The feast of Pentecost was celebrated with great zeal by the catholic community in Kuwait. In preparation for this great day, nine days Holy Spirit Novena was recited in various parishes. The most important event of these preparation days was the Pentecost Night Vigil conducted from Thursday 24th May 2012 10pm to Friday, 25th May 6am. The vigil was conducted at The Catholic Church of Our Lady of Arabia, Ahmadi. The theme of this ‘awakened night’ was 2 Timothy 1:7, ‘for God did not confer on us a spirit of bashfulness, but of strength, love and good judgement.’ The programmes were organised by various prayer groups of Kuwait Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services, Couples for Christ, Neocatechumenal and Jesus Youth under the leadership of Fr. Andrew Francis OFM Cap, the Spiritual Director of Kuwait National Service Team. The hours of Holy Rosary, Praise and Worship, Adoration, Intercessory Prayers, Anointing Prayers and Holy Mass all gave us truly an awakening to receive Holy Spirit. Br. CV Joseph (Chairman KNST) gave a talk on how to enkindle Holy Spirit within us. The Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Lionel Branganza SDB together with Fr. Andrew Francis OFM Cap gave a vibrant and spirit filled wind-up to the entire programme.

We thank holy Trinity through our Lady of Arabia for giving us an opportunity to kindle the fire of Holy Spirit in our community. The programme was co-ordinated by Prayer Groups in Ahmadi Church and was anchored by Br. Francis Fernandez, Dy. Chair Person KNST.
